Isabel (she/her/hers) is a PhD student in the REC Lab and the Tylianakis Lab (Link) studying the eco-evolutionary arms race between fruit fly hosts (genus Drosophila) and their parasitoid wasps. The goal of her research is to determine how pests evolve host resistance to parasitoids under certain environmental conditions within the context of global change biology and biological control. Her research is currently funded by Bioprotection Aotearoa, and she's committed to researching how to safegaurd ecosystems against ecological threats. Although her research focuses on agricultural entomology, Isabel is also passionate about conservation biology, agroecology, and invasion biology.
