The Restoration Ecology and Conservation Lab is a thriving and fun group of like-minded scientists working to tackle applied and basic research in Aotearoa and globally. We regularly work with community, industry, and government partners.
Our students are supervised by one of the academic staff in the lab- currently including Maia Raymundo, Sara Kross, and Shaun Ogilvie.
If you are a current undergraduate or postgraduate student at the University of Canterbury, please talk to a postgraduate student advisor in the Faculty of Science, and/or talk to one of us in our offices or after a class.
For external applicants, please make sure you are familiar with our work and think about how your interests align with what we do. We regularly received emails from prospective students, and while we endeavor to respond to each, we won't be able to respond to emails from students who have unrelated backgrounds or who have clearly used AI to compose their emails.
PhD students generally come in on a scholarship. You can search for relevant UC Scholarships on this page, or check for 'current scholarships' below. Students applying for a scholarship to work with one of our academic staff are expected to have been in contact with us to discuss research ideas and availability in the lab.
We have no currently available positions in the lab.
